IIT Guwahati has opened GATE 2026 registration for candidates across engineering, science, architecture, commerce, and arts disciplines. The online registration starts on August 28, 2025, with the last date for regular registration on September 28, 2025, and extended registration with late fee until October 9, 2025. Candidates can apply through the official portal gate2026.iitg.ac.in . GATE 2026 exams will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, with results expected by March 19, 2026. Eligibility includes graduates or final-year students in relevant disciplines, with no age limit.

  1. Educational Qualification
    • Candidates must have completed or be in the 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate degree in:
      • Engineering / Technology
      • Architecture
      • Science
      • Commerce
      • Arts
      • Humanities
  2. No Age Limit
    • There is no upper age limit to apply for GATE 2026.
  3. Eligible Degrees
    • B.E. / B.Tech / B.Pharm
    • B.Arch / B.Plan
    • B.Sc / B.Com / B.A.
    • M.Sc / M.A. / MCA or equivalent
    • Professional degrees recognized by AICTE / UGC / Government
  4. International Candidates
    • Candidates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia, and UAE are also eligible.
  5. Documents Required During Registration
    • Valid photo ID (same to be used at exam center)
    • Recent passport-size photo & signature (as per specs)
    • Degree / Provisional certificate (if graduated)
    • Category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), PwD, or Dyslexia certificate (if applicable)
