The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) conducts the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission into Class 6 for the academic year 2026-27. This test is designed to identify talented children primarily from rural areas, offering them quality residential education free of cost. For the 2026-27 session, the application process will begin on June 1, 2025, and the last date to apply is July 29, 2025. The entrance exam is scheduled in two phases: December 13, 2025, and April 11, 2026. Eligibility criteria include children born between May 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016, currently studying in Class 5 in a recognized school in the same district as the Navodaya school they wish to apply to. The selection is merit-based through the entrance exam. The application fee is waived for all candidates. Applicants must upload essential documents such as a photograph, signature, and proof of date of birth during registration.
