SSC CHSL Recruitment 2025: Exam Mode Details

Tier I (Computer-Based Test)

  • Objective type, multiple-choice questions
  • Four sections:
    1. General Intelligence
    2. General Awareness
    3. Quantitative Aptitude
    4. English Language
  • Total marks: 200 (50 marks per section)
  • Time: 60 minutes
  • Negative marking: 0.50 marks for each wrong answer

Tier II (Descriptive & Skill Test)

  • Descriptive Paper (Pen & Paper Mode)
    • Write an Essay (200–250 words)
    • Write a Letter/Application (150–200 words)
    • Marks: 100
    • Time: 60 minutes
    • Can be written in English or Hindi
  • Skill Test / Typing Test (Qualifying)
    • For LDC/JSA/PA/SA: Typing speed — 35 wpm in English OR 30 wpm in Hindi
    • For DEO: Data Entry speed — 8,000 key depressions per hour
