The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the notification for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2025. This test is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities/colleges across Karnataka. Online registration begins on 1st September 2025.

  • General: ₹1000/-
  • Cat-IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB: ₹750/-
  • SC/ST/Cat-I/PwD: ₹500/-

KSET 2025 – Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification
    • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree (Postgraduate) or equivalent in the concerned subject from a recognized university.
    • Minimum 55% marks required (for General/Unreserved candidates).
    • 50% marks relaxation for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), PwD candidates.
  2. Final Year PG Students
    • Candidates who are appearing in their final year PG exam or awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
    • Such candidates must complete their PG with the required percentage within the stipulated time set by KEA.
  3. Subject Criteria
    • Candidates should apply only in the subject of their Post-Graduation.
    • If the subject is not listed in KSET, candidates may apply under “General Paper” or the closest relevant subject as per UGC guidelines.
  4. Age Limit
    • No upper age limit for applying to KSET.
  5. Reservation Benefits
    • Only candidates belonging to Karnataka state categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) are eligible for reservation benefits.
    • Other state candidates will be considered as General category.

  2. Signature (Scanned in prescribed size & format)
  3. Postgraduate Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate
  4. Postgraduate Marksheet (Final/Consolidated)
  5. Final Year Students – Proof of appearing/awaiting results (issued by Head of Institution/University)
  6. Category / Reservation Certificate (SC/ST/OBC [Non-Creamy Layer]/Cat-I etc., issued by competent authority in Karnataka)
  7. PwD (Persons with Disability) Certificate (if applicable)
  8. Government-issued ID Proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / Passport / Driving License)
  9. Domicile Certificate (if claiming Karnataka reservation benefits)
