Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Must hold a Law Degree (LLB) from any recognized university.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025):

• Minimum: 21 years
• Maximum: 40 years
• Must be born between 02 July 1985 and 01 July 2004.
• Age relaxation:
  • SC/ST/OBC/Skilled Players/State Govt. employees: +5 years
  • PwD: +15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: +3 years + service period

Preferential Qualification:

• Two years’ service in Territorial Army OR
• “B” certificate of NCC

Documents Required

• High School Certificate (for Date of Birth)
• LLB Degree & Mark Sheets
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile Certificate (for UP candidates claiming reservation)
• Disability Certificate (if applicable)
• Passport-size photographs
• Valid Photo ID

How to Apply

1. Visit the UPPSC official website: https://uppsc.up.nic.in
2. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) at https://otr.pariksha.nic.in before applying.
3. Login with OTR number and fill the application form.
4. Upload required documents and pay the application fee.
5. Submit the application and take a printout for reference.

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type, 150 Marks)
   • General Knowledge (50 Questions, 08–10 marks each topic)
   • Law (100 Questions covering BNS, BSA, BNSS, UP Police Act, Indian Constitution etc.)

Negative Marking: 0.33 marks for each wrong answer

2. Mains Examination (Written, 500 Marks, 6 Papers)
   • General Hindi – 100 Marks
   • General English – 50 Marks
   • General Knowledge – 50 Marks
   • Criminal Law & Procedure – 100 Marks
   • Evidence Law – 100 Marks
   • Other Laws – 100 Marks (includes IPC, SC/ST Act, Dowry Act, POCSO, NDPS Act, etc.)
3. Interview – 50 Marks

Final merit will be prepared on the basis of Mains + Interview.
